The pricing for each clinic is $175 per rider, and a $50 nonrefundable deposit is required to hold your spot that will go towards your total clinic fee. This deposit will only be refunded if there is a schedule change and you can no longer participate.

Bring a sack lunch and a chair for our one hour lunch break, UTD coggins, a rope halter, saddle and snaffle bit are preferred.

Auditors are welcome! $25 for the day

November 12

Dressage Test practice and pattern work *ANY discipline is welcome and no showing experience is necessary!*

Morning sessions 9am - 12 pm

We will start on the ground working on small simple circles with proper flexion in walk and trot. Before getting in the saddle we will discuss certain figures on a white board to analyze them as a group and discuss ways to ride them properly. Before lunch, we will get into the saddle and work on these basic concepts of riding patterns and figures. Bring a cavesson if you have one, and ANY discipline is welcome!

Lunch 12pm - 1pm

Afternoon sessions 1pm - 4pm

This session is your time to practice riding a test of your choice. It does not have to memorized but I do recommend that you know the test well before riding.

Developing the canter

Morning session 9am - 12pm

Everyone will start on the ground and then carry that into larger circles to start working on canter transitions. We will discuss proper preparation, what to look for and how to support your horse through those transitions. Helping your horse understand how to want to go forward is key for a steady canter so we will tackle that as a group. There will be some patterns that will help build up to your canter on the ground. Bring a cavesson and lounge line if you have one.

Lunch 12pm - 1pm

Afternoon session 1pm - 4pm

Let’s canter! You will use the work and discussions from the morning session and put that into your afternoon work. We will work on proper riding position and how to support your horse when they want to go forward. I will give you some tools to use when your horse is a bit too forward and how you can help them without breaking the forward movement, as well as how to support your horse to want to go more forward.
